Dr. Syed Ali is board-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine and is certified in functional medicine.
Dr. Syed Ali received his bachelor’s degree from Case Western Reserve University in chemistry and sociology. He attended medical school at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and graduated in 2005.
He completed a 4-year anesthesiology residency at Cleveland Clinic, where he served as the residency research coordinator. He then went onto a fellowship in pain medicine, serving as chief.
He helped start a robust pain group in Akron Ohio after graduation, where he served on patient advocacy committees and was the team pain physician for the University of Akron and Kent State University athletic teams.
He serves as an associate professor of surgery at The Northeastern Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) and as an associate professor of anesthesiology at The Ohio University College of Medicine.
He moved to Chicago Illinois in the summer of 2018 and currently volunteers at PAWS in Lincoln Park when he is not seeing patients in the clinic.
He has been actively involved in clinical research and lecturing throughout his career, and does annual medical missions to Central America and Africa.
