Self-Care

Self-Care

Let’s talk a little about self-care. The importance of self-care has become a hot topic recently, especially throughout the COVID pandemic. Everyone is realizing the value of our overall health and wellness. There are countless podcasts, books, social media posts, news and talk show segments that are promoting wellness and self-care. Whether it’s, becoming more fit, eating a better diet, meditation, yoga, taking care of your mental health, vitamins and supplements…the list goes on and on; but the common theme here is self-care is of primary importance.

The old adage “You have to take care of yourself first before you can adequately take care of others” reigns true. In order to live a long healthy life, where you can meet the demands of the busy lifestyles most of us live, you must make the time to practice good self-care. This includes taking care of your mind, body and soul, so that you are capable of being the best spouse, parent, employee, friend that you can be. The million-dollar question is…How is this done? Well, we need to prioritize getting enough sleep, and be intentional with how we treat our body and mind.

Sleep is one of the most important things for both our physical and mental health. It’s the time our body and mind have to heal and rejuvenate themselves in order to function properly. Proper sleep is associated with decreased risk of disease, improvements in brain performance and better mental health. It is recommended that adults get 7 or more hours of sleep per night according to most healthcare professionals. Along with adequate sleep, a healthy diet and regular exercise also improve mental and physical health. Diets low in processed foods and high in quality, nutrient dense foods increase brain and heart health, improves energy and mood, and decreases risk of disease.

As a supplement, StrIVeMD Wellness & Ketamine can play an integral part in your self-care routine. We provide IV Ketamine infusions for people that are struggling with treatment resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD and OCD. Ketamine therapy has been shown to decrease symptoms of these mood disorders with minimal side effects in a very short period of time. By improving your mental health, you will begin to feel better, have more energy, be able to improve your relationships with others, and feel more present in your life. We also provide IV vitamin therapy to help improve your body’s physical health. Most people are lacking important nutrients in their diets that are needed for our cells and organs to function properly. By supplementing these regularly, you can help make up for the deficits that many people just aren’t getting with our standard American diet.
