Maura Kennedy has been a licensed functional health coach for eight years. She received her training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and has also trained with Dr. Ritamarie Loscalzo and the Institute of Nutritional Endocrinology. She currently works with a variety of clients from adolescents to the elderly. She addresses a range of health related issues like digestive health, mental health and weight loss.
Maura’s personal experience with chronic health issues inspired her to help others lead healthy and happy lives. After being diagnosed with Lupus and Fibromyalgia, she was expected to be on medications with harmful side effects for life. Instead of accepting this new fate, Maura made numerous lifestyle, dietary and medical changes and she was able to free herself of these medications and ultimately live a healthier life without side effects.
From dealing with her personal health struggles, Maura understands the mental degradation that comes along with health issues. This is a large focus of her practice: to heal holistically, and to address more than purely physical health. Maura knows from experience how important it is to address the emotional and mental effects of illness along with the physical.
Maura is currently training to run a marathon and loves any form of physical activity from biking, rollerskating to walking her dog. She is happiest near a body of water and also enjoys swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. Her ideal getaway is a family vacation filled with hiking to amazing views and racing down on a mountain bike.
